Decotex

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Decotex is a marble-grain, cement-based, lightweight filler material reinforced with fibers, designed to create a natural appearance on both internal and external surfaces. It is a finish coating material.

APPLICATION AREAS

This product is used for:

- Covering fine primer, properly applied base primer, concrete, gas concrete surfaces, and old silicate or acrylic-based paints.

- Plastering thermal and sound insulation boards such as XPS (extruded polystyrene foam), EPS (expanded polystyrene foam), and rock wool (pressed mineral wool slabs).

ADVANTAGES

- Due to its complex technological formula, it has high vapor permeability and is an ideal facade coating for thermal insulation systems.

- It is resistant to varying weather conditions and does not absorb water.

- Application and decoration are easy.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Surface Preparation

The surface must be clean, dry, and sound. Decotex should be applied at least 48 hours after the application of a 4-5 mm thick S 40 plaster or other similar plaster meeting standards (after it is fully dry). The surface must be primed with Binder or another appropriate primer before applying Decotex. For porous areas like gas concrete and absorbent surfaces, a thin coat of Epocement S 40 or similar insulation plaster meeting standards should be applied before Decotex.

Mixing

Slowly add 25 kg of Decotex to 5.0-6.5 liters of clean, cold water and mix with a slow-speed mixer for approximately 10 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is achieved. Adjust the amount of water according to weather conditions.

Application

Apply the prepared homogeneous mixture to the surface using a stainless steel trowel. The Decotex coating should be decorated within 10 minutes of application. For a textured surface, the trowel should follow the direction of the grooves. Decorations can be applied with a plastic or polyurethane trowel in horizontal, vertical, or circular patterns. During decoration, the trowel should be pressed firmly. All work on the same surface should be done with the same batch of mixture. For large surfaces, ensure sufficient workers are available to complete the work in time and apply the mixture continuously without breaks until the wet-to-wet joints are reached. The mixture should be used within 2 hours, considering weather conditions. Do not add water to hardened or thickened mixtures.

Recommendations 

Do not use under intense sunlight, strong wind, fog, high humidity, or heavy rainfall. Protect the applied mixture from freezing, rain, and other sources of moisture until drying is complete. If necessary, use coverings. The temperature of the surface and air should be between +5°C and +25°C. When temperatures exceed +25°C, the surface should be moistened by spraying (non-pressure) twice daily for 3 days to prevent water loss and reduced resistance. The surface can be painted after 24 hours under normal conditions.

 - Full drying: 2-3 days

- Flexural: >1.5 MPa

- Compressive: >3.0 MPa

Packaging: 25 kg bags consisting of 2 or 3 layers of kraft paper and 1 layer of polyethylene.

CONSUMPTION

Consumption of dry mix: 4-5.0 kg/m². The amount may vary depending on the shape of the surface and application conditions.

*STORAGE CONDITIONS

Can be stored in a dry environment, protected from moisture, for up to 6 months.

WARNINGS

Due to its cement base and alkaline content, if it comes into contact with eyes or skin, wash immediately with plenty of clean water; if ingested, seek medical attention; keep out of reach of children. The surface must be primed with Binder before applying Decotex; the consumption may vary depending on the decorative finish; check the color before application.
