Epocement Y40
Epocement Y40
ABOUT THE PRODUCT
Epocement Y40 is a cement-based, modified polymer adhesive used for bonding thermal insulation boards. It complies with the AZS 039-2000 (TS 11140-1993) standard for "Adhesives - Cement-based (hydraulic binder) for tiles, ceramics, and floor tiles."
APPLICATION AREAS
This product is used for bonding thermal insulation boards in insulation works.
ADVANTAGES
- Excellent adhesion capability.
- Easy to prepare and apply.
- Resistant to frost and heat.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Surface Preparation:
Ensure that the surfaces where the product will be used are solid, dry, dust-free, clean, and level. The surface must be completely free of any oil, rust, and paraffin residues that could weaken adhesion. Any cracks with a depth of 5 mm or 20 mm should be repaired with Epocement S40 repair mix or other similar products manufactured according to standards at least 2 days before use. If the temperature of the surface is above 25°C, the surface should be moistened.
Mix Preparation:
Slowly add 25 kg of dry mix into 6.0-6.5 liters of clean water and mix for 3-5 minutes until there are no lumps. Allow the mix to rest for 3-5 minutes, then stir again for 30 seconds to prepare the product for use.
Application:
Apply Epocement Y40 to the edges of the thermal insulation boards in lines and to the center in circles using a trowel. Place the thermal insulation boards onto the surface once the desired level and evenness are achieved. After the Epocement Y40 adhesive has set, mechanically secure the thermal insulation boards to the surface with anchors (nails). During application, avoid allowing the adhesive on the boards to dry out and form a crust.
Recommendations:
After bonding thermal insulation boards with Epocement Y40, they must be mechanically secured with anchors (nails) to the surface. If the temperature of the environment where the adhesive is used is below +5°C or above +30°C, the necessary temperature must be ensured. The product should not be used in hot, rainy, or windy conditions. On external surfaces, covered with thermal insulation boards, protection from sunlight, wind, and rain is required for 24 hours. Do not add water or new product to a mix that has started to dry.
CONSUMPTION
The consumption of Epocement Y40 is 4 kg/m² for a thickness of 3 mm. Approximately 6.0-6.5 m² of thermal insulation boards can be bonded with 25 kg of Epocement Y40.
STORAGE AND CONDITIONS
Unopened bags can be stored in a dry environment on wooden pallets, up to a maximum of 10 bags, for up to 12 months.
