Product Description:

EPOCON SP 585-Y-K is a highly effective superplasticizer concrete admixture made from premium-quality, specially selected polymer sulfonate materials that significantly reduce water content.

Applications:

EPOCON SP 585-Y-K reduces mixing water in concrete at a high rate, enhancing early and final strength or improving workability and extending the working time of fresh concrete. It is used in the following applications:

All classes of ready-mixed concrete.

Wide concrete surfaces where minimizing plate, foundation, and surface tension is required.

Flooring/concrete areas in open spaces where crack prevention is desired.

Concrete applications with a low water/cement ratio.

Waterproof concrete applications.

Surface applications for bridges.

Production of thin and dense reinforced concrete elements.

Manufacture of all structural elements in construction.

EPOCON SP 585-Y-K enhances the properties of both fresh and hardened concrete:

Significantly reduces mixing water compared to conventional concrete, boosting early and final strength.

Allows achieving a higher water/cement ratio with the same workability or better workability with the same water/cement ratio.

Reduces air entrainment and bleeding.

Improves concrete durability.

Increases resistance to chemicals.

Reduces permeability to water and chemicals.

Contains no chloride ions, preventing reinforcement corrosion.

Usage Details:

EPOCON SP 585-Y-K is supplied as a ready-to-use liquid for fresh concrete mixtures.

Dosage: For all concrete classes defined under TS EN 206-1, it is recommended to use 0.8% to 1.8% of the total cement weight in liquid consistency. This ratio depends on factors like cement, aggregate, mineral admixtures, and desired properties of fresh and hardened concrete. Laboratory tests should be conducted to determine optimal dosage.

Storage and Handling:

EPOCON SP 585-Y-K must be stored at temperatures above 0 °C. If the product freezes, it should be mechanically stirred carefully after thawing to restore its original condition.

Compatibility with Other Products:

EPOCON SP 585-Y-K is compatible with all EPO Kimya products. For compatibility with other admixtures, consult an authorized representative of EPO Kimya. When using multiple admixtures in the same concrete mix, each should be added separately.

Cement Compatibility:

EPOCON SP 585-Y-K is suitable for all cement types meeting TS EN 197-1 standards. It can also be used in concrete containing fly ash or ground granulated blast furnace slag. Consult EPO Kimya for special cement types.
