PRODUCT INFORMATION

Adhesive for vertical and horizontal surfaces. It is a high-quality, single-component, gray adhesive for ceramics and other facing tiles, enriched with additives to enhance product performance. It is a cement-based adhesive that meets the requirements of the AZS 039-2000 (TS 11140-1993) standard for "Cement-based (hydraulic binders) adhesives for tiles, ceramics, and floor tiles."

APPLICATION AREAS

This ceramic adhesive can be used:

In both interior and exterior areas

For bonding materials on surfaces such as concrete, plaster, and floor screeds

For tiling over old tiles without removing them.

USAGE INSTRUCTIONS

Surface Preparation: Ensure the surfaces are strong, dry, clean, and properly leveled. All oil and paraffin residues that may weaken adhesion must be thoroughly removed. If there are cracks or voids 5-6 mm deep, they should be filled a day before with Epocement S 40 repair mix or another mix compliant with standards. Before application, the surface should be primed with BINDER or other standard-compliant primers.

Mix Preparation: Gently pour a 25 kg powdered mix into 6.0-6.5 liters of water and mix until lumps disappear. Let the mix rest for 3-5 minutes, then stir again before use.

Application: Spread the mix onto the surface using the flat side of a trowel. Then, depending on the size of the tiles, comb the applied mix using the notched side of the trowel. For larger tiles, it is recommended to use the combined adhesive method (applying adhesive both on the surface and the back of the tile, then combing it).

The waiting time after combing the mix should not exceed 20 minutes. If the applied mix forms a crust, scrape it off and reapply the mix, then comb it again and proceed with tiling. The prepared mix should be used within 3 hours. Do not use expired or crusted mix. Joint filling should be done after 24 hours for walls and 48 hours for floors.

Recommendations: The temperature during the use of Epomix ceramic adhesive should not be below +5°C or above +30°C. Avoid using it in hot (+30°C or above), rainy, or windy conditions. Ceramics with high water absorption should be soaked in water before application. Do not add water or adhesive to expired mix. After use, clean all tools and equipment with water.

RECOMMENDED NOTCH TROWEL SIZE AND ADHESIVE THICKNESS BASED ON TILE SIZE

Tile Size:

Up to 15 cm x 15 cm: Notch size 6.0 mm, adhesive thickness 2.0-3.0 mm

Up to 30 cm x 30 cm: Notch size 8.0 mm, adhesive thickness 3.0-4.0 mm

Above 30 cm x 30 cm: Notch size 10.0 mm, adhesive thickness 4.0-5.0 mm

CONSUMPTION

The amount of dry mix consumed per 1 m² depends on the thickness of the applied adhesive and the size of the notched trowel.

Notch Size/Consumption (kg/m²):

6 mm: 1.94 kg/m²

8 mm: 2.46 kg/m²

10 mm: 4.12 kg/m²

STORAGE

Store unopened bags in dry conditions on wooden pallets, with a maximum of 10 bags stacked, for up to 12 months.

WARNINGS

Considering the cement base of Epomix and its additives, immediately rinse off with water if the adhesive comes into contact with the skin or eyes. Do not add any substances not mentioned in the instructions. The mentioned values are based on laboratory tests at +23°C ± 2°C and 50% ± 5% humidity; results may vary depending on conditions.
